Hebert Award and Other News

Hebert Award At an all-school assembly on January 21st, Nico Whitlock '16 was awarded the Hector Hebert Award. Long time colleague and fellow history teacher Alan Hall - dubbed the "venerable" by Principal Eric Klein - made the presentation. Before describing Mr. Hebert's characteristics and teaching style, Mr. Hall gave the students a snapshot of Yarmouth in the early 1970s: no stop lights, school called off by horn blasts from a general store on Main Street, the junior high school housed in the 100 Wing, etc.

Mr. Hebert would be delighted in this year's recipient. Nico is a top student, a soccer player, President of the Outing Club, a spokesperson for the student club B.O.L.D. (Building Our Lives Drug & Alcohol Free), a bass player in a bluegrass band, and a music teacher at the Boys and Girls Club. Congratulations Nico.
