Playmakers Win States Again, Other Awards

For the third consecutive year, the YHS Playmakers have won the State Class B One Act Drama Festival. The festival was held at Stearns High in MIllinocket this past week-end. Yarmouth's production of "Epic Proportions" bested nine other schools from around the state. Once again, the Playmakers will head to the New England Drama Festival, which is being held this year during the latter part of April vacation at Camden Hills High School.

Poetry Out Loud Ella Werner '17 placed second in this statewide competition.

The Portland Press Herald named several YHS winter sport athletes to All-State teams.

Girls' Hockey Michelle Robichaud '15 has been a stand-out on the team since her 9th grade year. Playing defense, this year Michelle scored eleven goals and had fourteen assists.

Girls' Track & Field Emma Egan '17 set the Class B record in high jump at the State Class B meet, clearing 5'-4.5". In the same meet, she placed 3rd in the 55, and 2nd in the long jump. She qualified for the New Englands, where she placed 7th in the high jump.

Girls' Skiing Abby Condon '17 won the Class B Skimeister competition, finishing in the top twenty in all four of the skiing events. In the Alpine events, Greta Elder '18 won the giant slalom, and placed fifth in slalom.

Boys' Skiing John Lane '17 peaked at the right time in the Nordic events, winning the freestyle and taking third in the classical.
