Robert Hack passed away on July 11, 2016 while camping on Lanes Island. He is survived by his father Robert, and his sister Christine ’84.
Sherry Lapointe, Occupational Therapist
Sherry Lapointe, 56, passed away on September 30th, 2016 at her home in Pownal after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. In her twenty-five years in the Yarmouth schools, Sherry had a profound effect on many students with various disabilities. A number of those students joined hosts of family, friends, colleagues at her memorial service, held in the Yarmouth Performing Arts Center on Saturday, October 15th.
Among her survivors are her sons Cody ’07 and Logan ’09. A full obituary can be found in the Portland Press Herald.
Sally Barchard ’65
Sally Barchard of Falmouth died on May 31, 2015 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. She worked for forty-two years for the Fred S. James Insurance Company. An active woman, Sally had an many interests: painting in water colors, kayaking, gardening, and music.
Sally was predeceased by his sister, Linda Barchard Pyles ’65. A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at Lindquist Funeral Home in Yarmouth on Saturday, June 6th. A full obituary appeared in the Portland Press Herald on June 2nd.
Richard Bowie ’63
Richard Bowie died suddenly of a heart attack on November 21, 2013 in Assonet, MA. After graduating from the University of Maine, Portland, Rick entered the Naval OCS program in 1967. He served on several naval vessels during the Vietman War.
Rick married his classmate Travis Markham Bowe, who survives him. They settled in Dartmouth, MA where they raised their three children. Rick worked for several businesses in the area over the years, and was very active in church and civic affairs.
Thomas E. Wood ’73
Tom Wood died at the Maine Medical Center on March 27th, 2015 after a brief illness. Tom worked as a carpenter in the Greater Portland area.
Among his survivors are his sister, Sandra Wood Wilson ’67 and her husband Mark Wilson ’65, and his nephews Aaron Wilson ’94 and Brett Wilson ’99. His full obituary appeared in the Portland Press Herald on April 1st, 2015.
